Post Rehabilitation and Corrective Exercise Services
I’m here to help you bridge the gap between health care and fitness. Through advanced training in medical and corrective exercise, I have created safe and effective programs for clients with certain medical conditions. I only work with clients after consulting the referring physician. My programs are built around the philosophy:
“Exercise is the key to Long Term Management of Most Medical Conditions.” Mike Jones, DPT
All of my programs emphasize the concept of functional exercise to improve or maintain the gains made in physical therapy or chiropractic care. Each program is designed to identify muscle imbalances and/or underlying weakness and developing a corrective exercise strategy. These programs can be done through several approaches that most suits the client.
Some examples are:
- aquatic fitness (when a pool is available)
- functional strength, cardiovascular and flexibility training
- weight reduction programs
- exercise for diabetic and hypertensive clients
Twin Cities Training has developed post rehabilitation programs for clients with the following conditions:
-
Shoulder impingement, rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, biceps tendinitis
-
Low back pain due to muscle imbalances, pinched nerves and or disk herniation
-
Spinal cord injuries, degenerative disk disease, laminectomy and spinal fusions
-
ACL replacements, meniscus tears, patella femoral syndrome and achilles tendon rupture
-
Carpal tunnel syndrome, golfers and tennis elbow
-
Any and all muscle imbalances that are affecting your overall function (causing pain)
In the last 12 years I have worked for and been a key contributor in the development of exercise based rehabilitation departments for chiropractors and fitness centers.
The first thing I do is contact your doctor for their recommendations, then perform a movement assessement to identify any muscle imbalances and get approval from your doctor before you begin the program.
